Ok, with that said, there’s still a lot to cover about the course. Here are the answers to 21 questions about the course.

Here is my personal Passive Income Geek Review on YouTube:

YouTube video by Writing Secrets—Passive Income Geek Review

What Is The Passive Income Geek Course?

The Passive Income Geek Course is a self-paced, online course that combines videos, text, and tools to show you how to build and make money from niche websites. The course also gives you access to an active community of other members who have also purchased the program.

“Get my step-by-step process to full-time income with passive income websites!” – Morten Storgaard

That’s the basic course in a nutshell. Now, let’s talk about what you actually get in the program.

What’s in the Passive Income Geek Course?

As a member myself, I have complete access to all the current and future course updates.

The Passive Income Geek Course is jam-packed with 9 modules that include:

  • Choosing a Good Niche
  • Topic Research
  • Choosing a Domain Name
  • Setting Up Your Website
  • Writing Awesome Content
  • SEO Tips
  • Monetization
  • Social Media
  • Outsourcing Content

Each one of these modules is further broken down into detailed subsections. You could even call these modules “mini-courses”. In that way, you get 9 courses for the price of one!

1) Choosing a Good Niche

Choosing a good niche is important to building a passive income blog or website.

This section of the course goes over the exact criteria for choosing a good niche, mistakes to avoid, and a chart to help you choose the right niche for you.

The course even shows you how to check if there is enough demand for the niche and if it is likely to make you a profit.

Here’s a screenshot from the Choosing a Good Niche Module:

2) Topic Research

The Passive Income Geek course dedicates a whole section to Topic Research, and for good reason.

After all, if you want to create a passive income stream, you need to start with a great topic. And not just any topic will do—it needs to be a topic that people are actually interested in and willing to pay for.

That’s where topic Research comes in.

This section of the course will teach you how to find those elusive topics that have both high demand and low competition.

You’ll learn how to use 99% free and a few (optional) paid keyword research methods to identify profitable blog topics.

3) Choosing a Domain Name

Domain names are a critical part of any website or blog, and choosing the right domain name can be the difference between success and failure.

The Passive Income Geek blogging course provides a comprehensive overview of everything you need to know about picking the perfect domain name.

You’ll learn how to:

  • Avoid common mistakes
  • Generate hundreds of domain name ideas
  • Choose a domain name that will help you achieve your long-term goals

4) Setting Up Your Website

Before you can start earning money from your blog, you need to set it up properly.

The Passive Income Geek blogging program walks you through every step of the process, from finding reliable hosting to creating essential pages like the Policy and Contact page.

Setting up your site correctly is crucial to ensuring that it performs well in search engines.

It also ensures that your website attracts visitors who are interested in what you have to offer.

5) Writing Awesome Content

Other than the Topic Research section, I think this is where the course really stands out from other programs.

This comprehensive section provides everything you need to know to write highly clickable content that ranks well and monetizes well with display ads and affiliate marketing.

It’s like Morten (the course creator) dumped all of his best content writing secrets into one module.

You’ll learn how to research and develop topics that are both popular and profitable, and you’ll also receive expert guidance on crafting headlines, structuring your posts, and using powerful engagement tricks.

I’ve returned to this section over and over again in the past few years.

6) SEO Tips

This Passive Income Geek Review would not be complete without a discussion of SEO.

In this set of lessons, the course covers:

  • The SEO basics so that your site and content get massive traffic
  • When, where, and how to get backlinks
  • The SEO errors that even professional bloggers make
  • How to get your website indexed faster on Google

7) Monetization

The Passive Income Geek program teaches you how to monetize your content with premium ads and affiliate marketing.

You learn how to maximize your revenue by targeting specific keywords and phrases that will appeal to advertisers.

In addition, you learn how to track your results so that you can continually improve your earnings.

8) Social Media

The course is very clear that you don’t need a social media presence to build a money-making blog.

In this section, Morton covers a few of the most popular social media sites (like Facebook, Pinterest, and YouTube) and how you might use them to increase traffic to your site.

9) Outsourcing Content

If you’re looking for a way to take your website to the next level, this section is for you.

The Outsourcing Content section goes into great detail on how to find, hire, and train a team of writers and editors, so you can scale your site quickly and efficiently.

And if you have the money to invest, you can use the program to grow even faster.

As you can see, there is a TON of value in the course.

As a relative newbie to niche website building, I found the content comprehensive without being overwhelming.

There are currently 68 videos (and growing) of “over-the-shoulder” videos where you learn exactly how to do every step of the course. The course also includes plenty of text for those who learn by reading.

What Else Comes With the Course?

  • An active, growing community of other niche website bloggers.
  • Early access to the Ezoic ad network (this is an awesome bonus because most bloggers make more money with Ezoic than Google Ads).
  • Lifetime access to the Ezoic Site Speed Accelerator Tool to make your website run super fast.

I can tell you from a behind-the-scenes perspective that this promised content is 100% accurate and superbly helpful.

The community is still relatively small but really engaged, making this one of the best times to join the course. You’re likely to get engagement from other course members now because the membership isn’t so big—probably still under 1,000 members so far.

The course creator, Morton Storgaard, is also very active in the community.

As soon as I posted an introductory message to the community, I received a quick welcome from Morton himself (Two years later, he still is active in the community).

What Are the Latest Updates to the Course?

Like other courses, The Passive Income Geek Course is constantly updated with helpful new content.

According to PassiveIncomeGeek.com, here are the most recent course updates:

  • May 9, 2022: The course added advanced lessons for topic research and SEO
  • Mar 25, 2022: The course updated the “Build With Us” section with even more content
  • Mar 17, 2021: New tool added to calculate income and earnings
  • Feb 9, 2021: In-depth training added about the “Army Ants Method”
  • Jan 5, 2021: New lesson on site speed and technical SEO tips.

Morton promises to continually update the course as he learns new techniques and information from his current portfolio of websites.

How Much Does the Course Cost?

The current price of the course:

  • $399 to purchase the course (includes the first year of membership in the community)
  • $199 fee per year as an ongoing membership subscription (starts the second year)

Those are the only costs of the program.

Remember, you also get early access to Ezoic ads, lifetime access to the Site Speed Accelerator Tool, and access to all future course updates.

Why Is There an Ongoing Fee for the Course?

The ongoing fee for the Passive Income Geek Course is for access to the membership community (invaluable support and advice from other niche website bloggers—including the course creator himself) and access to all future course updates.

As far as courses go, it’s one of the lowest-priced programs on the market.

I’ve purchased other courses in the past, such as Income School (which is also a great course), but Passive Income Geek is much cheaper with just as valuable (and different) content.

How Does the Passive Income Geek Course Work?

The Passive Income Geek Course combines text, videos, and tools to teach you step-by-step how to create and make money from niche websites.

After you purchase the course, you will:

  1. Watch an introductory video from the course creator (Morton Storgaard).
  2. Create a profile on PassiveIncomeGeek.com.
  3. Complete an AI (computer bot-led) tutorial on how the community messaging works (I found this very intuitive and helpful).
  4. Introduce yourself to the community.
  5. Start the first module of the course.

Typically, each section (and subsection) of the course starts with an introduction, usually some text, and a series of video tutorials showing you exactly how to perfect each task.

Each section builds on the next in an easy-to-follow structure (You can also jump around to any module you want at any time).

As you complete each section, you click on a “mark complete” button that tracks your progress through the course. You can repeat any section as many times as you want and at your own pace.

I found that very helpful as a busy father with a full-time freelance workload.

Who Made the Passive Income Geek Course?

Morton Storgaard is a successful blogger, YouTuber, and creator of the Passive Income Geek Course.

He is a father, husband, and blogger who lives in Denmark. He’s been involved with making money online since around 2007. Before running niche sites, he did e-commerce, dropshipping, and SEO consulting.

He now runs a portfolio of successful niche websites (along with his team).

His portfolio of websites include:

WebsiteAhrefs Domain AuthorityEstimated Organic Monthly Traffic
GoDownsize.com5168.4K
SewingMachineTalk.com65.2K
AnimalHow.com (He built and then sold it)1716.5K
Passive Income Geek Review Note: Keyword tools like Ahrefs often get traffic wrong. Morton’s sites probably get way more traffic

Each one of these sites (and others) make Morton a healthy income each month.

Understandably, Morton does not disclose his full, total income to strangers on the internet (a smart guy that Morton).

However, he does occasionally disclose how much he makes from individual sites.

It’s important to trust the person who made the course. I implicitly trust Morton after following his YouTube channel for the last few years.

Here’s another video showing some more proof of his earnings:

How Is Passive Income Geek Different Than Other Courses?

I’ve only taken one other full course (Income School), but I have researched other courses and followed course creators online.

As someone actually inside the Passive Income Geek course right now, I believe it stands out for several reasons. Some of the reasons include design, content, and price.

How is the Passive Income Geek course different?

  • The price of the program is very low compared to most other courses on related topics (huge upside!)
  • The content focuses on finding and maximizing what Morton calls “underserved topics”.
  • The course is very intuitive and easy to follow, even for a relative beginner like me.

Do I Get Personal Help in the Passive Income Geek Course?

The Passive Income Geek Course is designed as an online, self-paced course and community.

The course does not promise one-on-one, individual help.

However, I have personally found the community members (and Morton himself) highly responsive in the community forums.

The good news is that the course and community make it surprisingly simple to launch your niche website.

Whatever questions you may have along the way can likely be answered by other members of the Passive Income Geek community. Especially right now, as the community is still relatively small.

Morton is very transparent on PassiveIncomeGeek.com.

He shares an easy way to reach out to him whether you are a paid member of the program or simply someone interested in learning more.

Contact Information:

How Much Money Can I Make With the Course?

The Passive Income Geek Course (like any other reputable course) can not guarantee any person a specific income. There are just too many variables—skills, effort, the Google algorithm, etc.

However, PassiveIncomeGeek.com does clearly lay out the following possibilities:

Screenshot from PassiveIncomeGeek.com about how much money you can make from the course
Screenshot by Author—Passive Income Geek Review—Source

Therefore, if you follow the course, you can potentially earn between $400-$1,000 per month from display ads by the end of 12 months. When you add affiliate offers, you can make even more.

My guess is that you can make significantly more money than this but, for legal and marketing reasons, most course creators must low-ball the average earnings.

The last thing anyone wants is to get in legal trouble or end up with disappointed customers.

So, if you follow all of the course material, choose a good niche, and create really good content on underserved topics, I personally think you might be able to double or triple (or more) those average earnings.

The numbers definitely add up when I compare the estimated earnings to what other trusted sources say.

For example, Doug Cunnington says that (if you do most things right) you can make between $1,500 to $5,000 per month by the end of one year. Income Schools says you can earn up to $4,000 per month.

How much can you really make from the Passive Income Geek Course?

If you pick a decent niche, find underserved topics, and write good content that is well monetized (aka follow the course), I personally think you can make between $1,000 and $5,000 (or more) per month from your site.

That’s what I’m doing now (with a three-year plan to hit six figures).

I currently run four websites that I’m building. You only need one, but since the methods work for four slowly, they should work fast when you focus on one main site.

Do I Need To Buy More Tools in the Passive Income Geek Course?

Not at all.

You don’t need to buy any additional tools in the Passive Income Geek course. As long as you already have a hosting company (like Bluehost), everything else is included.

Morton does recommend certain tools at times, but there is no requirement for purchasing them.

You can easily create a website using the free WordPress.org (not WordPress.com) content platform. Then, you can choose any hosting that you want.

I currently use HostArmada and WPXHosting based on the recommendations from the course.

Here are the Passive Income Geek Tools:

How Long Will It Take To See Results From the Course?

According to PassiveIncomeGeek.com, you can expect some level of results in the first 12 months.

Some niche website bloggers see faster results. Some may see slower results. Most bloggers recognize that it takes approximately 6-8 months for new blog posts to rank well on Google.

However, my experience is that you can get ranked much faster (within the first 1-4 months) with truly underserved topics.

I can tell you from personal experience that my sites rank very quickly and, in total, get close to 100,000 page views per month.

Therefore, I believe that if you follow the course closely and work hard, you can expect to see your traffic, page views, and earnings trending in a positive direction within the first 6 months (and sometimes even sooner).

Is Passive Income Geek for Beginners?

The Passive Income Geek Course is very beginner-friendly.

Beginners will learn exactly what they need to know to succeed, without fluff or over-complication. The entire program walks you step-by-step through each stage of building a niche site, filling it with valuable content, and monetizing your site to create a passive income.

As a beginner myself, I love the simple and intuitive design of the course.

I had no trouble working my way through the course, taking action steps, and following along with the video explanations.

I also really appreciated the “Build With Me” videos where Morton literally creates a new niche site on camera.

“Morten’s material is amazing, well-presented, and easy to digest. I recommend it for both beginners and experienced publishers.”—Renaat Crommen, Articlelab.com (founder)

Is Passive Income Geek for Experienced Bloggers?

The Passive Income Geek Course is great for more experienced bloggers.

There are new insights, new approaches, and new tactics shared in the course. Even veteran bloggers with successful websites have said that the course offers fresh content they have not seen elsewhere.

It’s true that experienced bloggers might not learn as much as a complete beginner (like myself).

However, the course is designed to take someone from a beginner to an advanced level. The more advanced topics include scaling up to running multiple websites with teams of content producers.

Can I Take the Course if I Have a Full-Time Job?

Yes, the course is fully optimized to learn at your own pace.

I am a full-time freelancer myself, so while my schedule is very flexible, I am also very busy. Not to mention that I also have two kids under the age of 16.

I find the self-paced design of the program very user-friendly.

Most of the text and videos are short, to the point, and include only the details you need to know to take action.

Each video maximizes value while minimizing time. It’s very obvious to me that Morton put so much work into making an accessible and actionable course even for busy adults.

Will the Course Work if I Already Have a Website?

Yes, absolutely.

The Passive Income Geek Course works if you already have a website. You can simply skip the module on choosing a niche and domain name (although I recommend you watch them anyway). You can start with the module on finding topics and writing amazing content.

I had an existing website when I first started.

Very quickly, I was able to find underserved topics even in a competitive niche.

After I scaled my current website, I started three more websites following all of the modules right from the start. Even though I already had an existing website, I learned ways to optimize and improve it.

Is the Passive Income Geek Course Only for US Residents?

The Passive Income Geek Course is for anyone in the world with access to the internet.

The course creator lives in Denmark and members of the course community live all around the world. The focus of the course is on Americans in the United States because that is where the course (and most affiliate marketers) make the most money.

However, you can create niche websites in any language and focus on any country.

If you live outside of the United States, you may want to check into a Virtual Private Network (VPN) service (which allows you to access Google from a United States IP address).

I believe that this will allow you to make the most of the course, ad platform, and affiliate earnings.

Who Is the Course Not For?

The Passive Income Geek Program is not for everyone.

It’s not for someone who:

  • Wants to focus on black hat methods
  • Actively build backlinks
  • Make the best-looking website in the industry
  • Doesn’t want to put in the work

It’s not for someone who is not willing to do the work of manually finding keywords, figuring out the technical aspects of building a website, and writing quality content.

It’s not a get-rich-quick scheme.

Developing a website takes time and energy. If you’re looking for a program that will teach you how to get rich quickly, this is not it.

But if you’re willing to put in the hard work, the Passive Income Geek Program can help you build a successful online business. You’ll learn how to find profitable niches, build websites that convert, and generate passive income through display ad revenue and affiliate marketing.

What Are the Pros and Cons of the Passive Income Geek Course?

I put together a simple infographic that compares the major pros and cons of the course.

I thought it would be a helpful part of my Passive Income Geek Review. As someone in the course right now, I see WAY more pros than cons.

In fact, when putting together this infographic, I struggled to come up with downsides to the course:

What Is the Passive Income Geek Refund Policy?

The Passive Income Geek Course offers a 30-day money-back guarantee.

Here is how PassiveIncomeGeek.com explains it:

We offer a 30-day money-back guarantee. Meaning, that in case you aren’t satisfied with the product you can request a refund. You just reach out to us and explain the matter.

In case your subscription renewed by accident you can also reach out and have your money back.

Is the Passive Income Geek Course Accessible to the Visually Impaired?

Yes, the Passive Income Geek site and course are accessible to the visually impaired using free online text-to-speech tools.

The abundance of course videos also makes learning from the course easier for those with visual differences.

Alternatives to the Passive Income Geek Program

There are many alternative blogging programs other than Passive Income Geek.

Most (if not all) are more expensive, but most are good programs with helpful information. It really depends on what type of program you are looking for and how much you want to pay.

Here is a list of Passive Income Geek alternatives:

  • Project 24 (Income School)
  • The Affiliate Lab
  • The Authority Site System
  • Commission Hero
  • Super Affiliate System
  • Digital Worth Academy
  • Legendary Marketer
  • Wealthy Affiliate
  • Inbox Blueprint
  • Affiliate Marketing Mastery

If you don’t want to go with Passive Income Geek (my personal top choice), then I recommend Project 24.

10 Things I Wish I Knew When Before I Purchased the Passive Income Geek Program

There are (at least) 10 things I wish I knew when I first purchased and took the Passive Income Geek blogging program.

This review wouldn’t be complete without these insights, so I hope they help you.

Here are the 10 things I wish I had known.

1) The Passive Income Geek Program is not flashy

This course is focused on teaching sustainable methods for earning passive income online.

It’s not about chasing the latest blogging trend or using flashy tactics to make a quick buck. Instead, it’s about learning what works and building a solid foundation for long-term success.

With the Passive Income Geek Program, you’ll learn how to create valuable content, build an engaged audience, and earn a consistent income from your blog or website.

These are proven strategies that will help you generate passive income month after month, year after year.

If you’re ready to stop chasing the next shiny object and start building a real business online, the Passive Income Geek Program is for you.

2) The Gold Is In the Keyword Selection Process

The real gold in the program is keyword research.

After years of studying the methods and applying them to my four websites, I can tell you that the methods work like gangbusters.

The more you practice the techniques in the course, the better you get at finding easy-to-rank keywords.

The Passive Income Geek Program has helped me to take my business to the next level by teaching me how to find profitable keywords and use them to draw targeted traffic to my site.

3) Trust the Process

When I first purchased the program, I came in with lots of hope but a little skepticism.

After all, I had been trying to make this blogging thing work for a few years already. But I was willing to try the program, follow the program, and see if I could actually make a full-time living.

Looking back, I’m so glad that I trusted the process.

I started seeing positive signs (increased traffic) pretty quickly after applying the methods. I completely redesigned my first website, and just kept plugging away using the methods in the course.

Less than a year later, I went full-time as a blogger.

4) You Don’t Need To Know Anything About SEO

Thankfully, you don’t need to be an expert at SEO (Search Engine Optimization) to go through the program.

When I joined the program, there were zero Passive Income Geek reviews.

Not a single one.

As a complete newbie to building websites, I was afraid of getting overwhelmed with SEO.

The good news is that the Passive Income Geek program does not require expertise in SEO. In fact, the program only covers the very basics of SEO that you need to know.

All of the information is easy to understand and (even better) very actionable.

5) There Is No Fluff

As anyone who’s ever tried to earn passive income knows, it’s not easy.

There are a lot of programs out there that promise to help you make money while you sleep, but most of them are full of fluff.

Not the Passive Income Geek Program, though.

This course is designed to give you the tools and knowledge you need to start generating passive income within a year. The program is concise and to the point, with no fluff or filler.

You’ll learn exactly what you need to know to get started, and you’ll be able to put what you’ve learned into action right away.

6) You Won’t Get (As) Overwhelmed

As someone who has always been interested in building a passive income stream, I was intrigued when I came across the Passive Income Geek program.

The program focuses on finding profitable keywords, creating quality content, and monetizing that content.

Other programs easily get overwhelming with a million different to-dos.

One thing I really appreciate about the Passive Income Geek program is that it is narrowly focused on just one thing: building a passive site. The program provides clear instructions and resources to help you research keywords, write quality content, and monetize your site.

7) The Community Is Priceless

The Passive Income Geek Program community is priceless.

I’ve learned so much from reading the answers to other people’s questions. The community is a place of encouragement, advice, techniques, and invaluable online “mentorship.”

While it’s not one-on-one coaching, you can get specific answers to your very specific circumstances.

Now that the community has been around for a few years, many of your questions have probably already been fully answered.

The Passive Income Geek Program community has changed my life.

I used to feel so alone in my quest to generate passive income streams. I felt like I was the only one who cared about this stuff and that no one else really understood me.

But then I found the Passive Income Geek Program community and everything changed.

Now I feel like I’m part of a supportive, friendly group of like-minded individuals who are all working together to achieve our financial goals. We lift each other up when we’re feeling down and celebrate our successes together.

I can’t imagine going on this journey without the support of this amazing community.

8) You Can’t Learn All His Secrets on YouTube

One thing I wanted to know before I purchased the program is if I could get all of the information for free on YouTube.

The Passive Income Geek YouTube Channel is a great resource for learning tips and tricks about building a passive income stream.

However, if you want to get much more insight and detail into how to actually build and run your site, day-by-day, then the Passive Income Geek Course by Morten Storgaard is a great investment.

The course takes you through all the steps necessary to launch and grow a successful online business.

9) Keep Things Very Simple for Your First Blog

One of the things that held me back for years is “paralysis by analysis.”

As soon as I invested in the Passive Income Geek course, that paralysis broke. I committed myself to the simple steps. I took one after the other for my first blog, which made a world of difference.

You don’t need to start a bunch of websites, hire writers, or spend months building a social media following.

In the course, you don’t worry about email lists or networking.

All you do is create the best content on topics no one else has written about before (but topics that people are searching for online).

In a sense, you simply find out what people want and you give it to them.

It doesn’t get much simpler than that—something that instantly relieved my stress when developing my first website.

10) The Answer Is Almost Always to Keep Following the Program

Running websites is an ever-changing experience.

Rankings fluctuate, traffic goes up and down, you hit plateaus, and Google rolls out sweeping updates.

After a few years in the Passive Income Geek course, the answer to most “problems” is to keep following the program. It’s tempting to question the foundation, to look elsewhere for quick fixes.

Blogging can be downright scary.

But, from experience, what works for me is to keep following the principles of the course.

I know it sounds counter-intuitive, but when things get tough—when rankings drop or traffic stalls—that’s usually when I need to double down on my efforts and focus on the basics.

The blogging world is always in flux, but the fundamentals remain the same.

The bottom line is that the Passive Income Geek course teaches you fundamentals that stand the test of time and “future-proof” your website as much as anything can.

How Can I Learn More About the Passive Income Geek Program?

The best way to learn more about the program is to visit PassiveIncomeGeek.com.

You can also watch this 4-minute launch video where Morton talks about the course:

YouTube Video by Passive Income Geek via YouTube for my Passive Income Geek Review

Another thing you might want to know is about his philosophy of building websites and passive income.

Other blogging programs require tons of outreach to write guest posts, social media marketing, and building expensive or time-consuming backlinks.

Passive Income Geek does not focus on any of that (surprisingly).

Instead, the program is laser-targeted on the 20% of blogging actions that bring you 80% of the results (and profits!).

Here is a 13-year “fly-over” view of his philosophy and approach:

Video by Passive Income Geek via YouTube for my Passive Income Geek Review

As you can probably tell, his approach to SEO and keyword research is radically different than most other experts in the space.

This is such an important part of his strategy, that you’ll find several YouTube videos on his channel showing you how to do it.

Having watched those videos, I can tell you that there is EVEN more valuable content in the course itself.

Parting Thoughts: Passive Income Geek Review

Thank you for reading my Passive Income Geek review.

I’m thoroughly impressed with the course and truly think you’ll be amazed at what it (and Morton) offers.

If you have any other questions, please reach out to me on social media.

I’ll happily answer your questions, and update this post as Morton adds new content. The price is likely never going to be this cheap again.

If even part of you is intrigued by the course, I encourage you to join the community now. It could be one of the most important investments you ever make in yourself.
